Frequently Asked Roofing Questions

Q: How much will it cost to replace my roof?

A: The size and steepness of your roof, along with roofing materials, factor into the price of your new roofing system. However, if you are replacing your roof due to hail or wind damage, the insurance company covers the majority of the costs and you only pay your insurance deductible out of pocket.

Q: What roofing material is best for my home?

A: The roofing material you choose for your home depends on your budget, HOA restrictions, and visual preferences. We offer multiple residential roofing material options, i.e. asphalt shingles, metal, stone-coated steel, and coatings, and our team is ready to help you walk through what choice is best for you and your home!

Q: What ventilation do I need for my home?

A: Ventilation depends on the proper intake flow of air to maximize the ventilation needed. We have multiple ventilation options to select from, i.e. solar, ridge vent, box vents, and gable vents. Ventilation is important to prevent your roof from becoming too hot and damaging your roof type.

Q: How quickly can you replace my roof?

A: How quickly we can get you on our production schedule depends on the roofing material you choose and material demand. During storms, the lead time may be a little longer. Typically we can get a new roof installed for customers within 2-4 weeks!

Q: What types of roof repairs do you offer?

A: We perform a wide range of residential and commercial roof repairs in the Austin Metro area. Most common roof repairs consist of replacing an entire roof slope due to damage, replacing missing or damaged shingles, replacing pipe jacks, replacing rotten fascia boards, replacing flashing, siding repairs, and replacing/adding gutters. Give us a call if you think your roof may need a repair and we’ll come to take a look!

Q: What can I do to extend the life of my roof? And how can I ensure it is structurally sound?

A: Tree trimming maintenance to ensure no tree limbs are rubbing on the roof and annual roof tune-ups will ensure your roof stands up to this Texas heat and weather. Also, it’s important to keep your gutters clear of leaves and debris. Call us today to find out about our Annual Roof Tune-Up Program.

Q: How long does it take you to replace a roof?

A: Most residential asphalt roofs will take our crews 1 day to replace. However, it depends on the size of your roof and the roofing material you chose for your home. For example, metal roofing systems and stone-coated steel roofs can take up to 5 days to complete.

Q: How long do I have to file an insurance claim with my carrier after a storm event?

A: Your insurance claim deadline can range from 6 months to 2 years depending on your insurance carrier. Refer to your homeowners insurance policy to get this timeline.

Q: How do I choose a good roofing contractor?

A: It is important to ensure the roofing contractor is local and has been in business 3+ years in the greater Austin Metro area. Obviously you can learn a lot from looking up their website, customer reviews and BBB Rating (A+ Best). Be aware there are no regulations to be a roofing contractor in Texas, thus many storm chasers come into the area after storms that most likely will not be around to service any leaks or honor warranties down the road. Also, if they claim to take care of your deductible for you, that is now against the law as of 9/1/2019. Many insurance carriers are requiring proof of payment of deductibles from roofing companies as a result of this new law. The insured is responsible for paying their deductible to the roofing contractor.

Q: What warranties do you offer?

A: Our warranty options range from 2 years to 50 years on workmanship. Many of our roofing systems come with 50-year warranties included. Give us a call to learn more about the options we have available for you!
